Email from Command Sgt. Maj. Rachel L. Fails (Ret)

From the State Captain: December 23, 2020

Email from Command Sgt. Maj. Rachel L. Fails

I was able to process the donation. I would like for all of your volunteers to know I appreciate what they continue to do to honor our Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines. You were always there to support the families in their biggest time of need and through their grief and I know they were always grateful for your show of support.

All the best to all of you during Christmas and in 2021.

Respectfully,

Rachel Fails

Rachel retired this last spring (2020) from her position as Army Command Sgt. Maj.

Command Sgt. Maj. Rachel L. Fails made history Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 , as she became the first female Senior Enlisted Leader for the Iowa National Guard, following a Change of Responsibility ceremony held at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa.

She deployed in 1990-91 in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and in 2008-09 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

I would like to thank Rachel for her service to our country and her generous donation to the Iowa Patriot Guard Riders.
